Have you heard the saying, “there is no such thing as failure?” This is a Truth that has brought me tremendous freedom and success in my life, as well as many others I am grateful to journey through life with!

The problem becomes that we have a world that has conditioned us to fear “failure” as if it is a real thing. This fear can keep us stuck and immobilized from pursuing our dreams. Looking back at a little history… I am very grateful for the difference makers who did not let that false belief stop them…

When inventing electric light, Thomas Edison reflected by saying, “I have not failed. I just found 10,000 ways that didn’t work.” Had he given up at attempt 9,998 thinking he “failed,” we may not still have light today!

The first time the Wright Brothers took flight in 1903 they flew for 12 seconds for 120 feet. Some may have thought that was a “failure,” yet they celebrated this HUGE success of the first flight of human beings. Today, a million people fly around the world daily!

Dr. Wayne Dyer says that, “Failure is a judgment, an opinion” The two above examples show how this wisdom in action. “Failure” is only is a judgment of how we think something is supposed to go with made up opinions by yourself or others.

Price Pritchett, PhD, teaches us in You2 to “seek failure.” His work is based on the proven science of Quantum Physics and he gives us the knowledge that: “Failure IS a sign of progress and a resource. Welcome it!”

We learned to walk by falling down! As far as I know, no human gave up because they thought they “failed.” Why? Because we did not know such a thing as “failure” existed. And… it doesn’t!

Just like learning to walk, every step we take gets us closer to our goals. If we did not take the step that did not work, we would not be where we need to be to take the next one!

It is like traveling down a path in a forest that is curvy… sometimes you cannot see the end, until you take a few steps forward, but suddenly before you know it… your destination is in sight! Had you stayed stagnant, you would have been stuck in the woods forever.

In my own career I have tried things that did not work out, but I learned, grew and they brought me ideas that DID WORK, bringing me success!

Napoleon Hill, who is responsible for creating countless millionaires from the book Think and Grow Rich  written by interviewing highly successful people reported, ““Most great people have achieved their greatest success just one step beyond their greatest failure.”

When we really start to understand that “failure” does not exist deep in our soul, we can be free! Free to try! Free to fly! Free to “fail” because in reality… there is no such thing.

Marianne Williamson says it best in A Return to Love: “Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we learn.  The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and prejudices and the acceptance of love back in our hearts.”

So.. love yourself beautiful butterfly! Follow your dreams! Listen to your spirit! You cannot fail, only fly forward!
