Are you a single person like me who has found themselves in their home, all alone, talking to animals (if you have them) or finding random things to do for entertainment during this quarantine?
If you do your nails, have you done them more times that you can count?
Yesterday, I found myself making a dance video with my dog, realizing it was the most fun I had experienced in days, and I’ve done my nails at least 3 times a week, just to give me something to do! I love my dog and my nails, but YIKES! Is this really the “new normal?”
As someone who thrives on being alone and has soared through most my life solo, I openly admit it is a very different experience right now when we HAVE to be alone, versus CHOOSE to be alone! It can feel lonely and scary, especially since there is no end in sight (for now).
Today, I am beyond grateful for my mindset training. I am not sure where I would be without it. The looney bin maybe? Surely not as happy and making dance videos!
Don’t get me wrong, it is NOT easy all the time! I have had moments where I felt I was going to break down and not be able to handle the “rules” any longer, especially being the FREE spirit I am and loving to explore the world!
What did I do at those low points? I reached out to one of my coaches! Thank goodness I have two, as well as peer coaches I am honored to call my friends. They have been invaluable to me, especially because I truly have NO family support.
I know I AM NOT ALONE in this. There are many of you out there who have little, to NO family support, so I know what it feels like.
In reality, this has been my journey since childhood. It is one of the reasons my calling is to be an Empowerment Coach: I have empowered myself since I was a young girl. It is something I am naturally good at AND have gratefully gained the skills to help others professionally. Life prepared me with my experiences and education.
Here are a few tips to stay POSITIVE in mind, body and spirit during this time:
- GET DRESSED everyday! Preferably in your favorite colors that you feel good in!
- JOURNAL about this time in your life.
- LIMIT the news you watch to an hour a day MAX! (Unless it’s uplifting news!)
- EXERCISE at least 3 times/week.
- WALK outside if you are allowed to every day!
- DANCE inside like no one’s watching (because they aren’t!)!
- EAT healthy!
- TALK to at least 1 person you love everyday!
- REMIND yourself: “This too shall pass!”
- GET A COACH or MENTOR TO SUPPORT YOU THROUGH THIS!
PLEASE ALLOW SUPPORT INTO YOUR LIFE!
The world is operating on fear and we need to do our best during this time to stay positive, grow, and focus, so we can come out of this stronger than ever! There is a TON of good happening in the world, but you must train your mind to look for it AND allow others to serve us, as we serve the world!
Do your best beautiful butterfly! Always know you are not alone! I believe angels are always with us! I AM here for you as well! You do NOT have to go through this without solo!
